Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the WellVersed app and website collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. "WellVersed", "we" and "us" mean the WellVersed Team. If anything here is unclear, email us at contact.wellversed@gmail.com.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address, username and password. We store only a secure hash of your password, never the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
  • Profile and settings: a profile photo if you add one, your time zone, reading fonts, notification and reminder preferences.
  • Your documents: the books, PDFs and EPUB files you upload.
  • What you create: study units, notes, highlights, bookmarks, chat questions, quiz and flashcard answers.
  • Support messages: anything you send us through the in-app support form or by email.

Information created as you use WellVersed

  • Generated study materials: summaries, flashcards, quizzes, concept maps, key terms, translations and audio created from your documents.
  • Study activity: what you studied and when, review sessions and scores, study streaks, review schedules and reminders.
  • Usage records: account events such as sign-ins and changes to your account, and records of the AI work done for you (which feature, which model, and how much it used).
  • Error and crash reports: when something goes wrong in the app or on our servers, we record the error message, technical details of where it happened, and the account it happened to, so we can fix it.
  • Device information: a push notification token for your device if you allow notifications.

Purchases

  • Your balance: your prepaid balance and a history of top-ups and charges.
  • Google Play purchases: top-ups are paid through Google Play and processed by RevenueCat. We receive the product you bought, the transaction ID, the price and currency. We never see or store your card or bank details; Google handles payment.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create your account, sign you in and keep it secure
  • To store your documents and turn them into study materials
  • To schedule reviews and send the reminders and notifications you choose
  • To process top-ups, charge your balance for the work you request, and issue refunds
  • To send account emails: verification, password reset, deletion and data export
  • To answer support requests
  • To find and fix errors, prevent abuse, and improve WellVersed

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. AI Processing of Your Documents

To create summaries, quizzes, chat answers and other materials, we send the relevant text from your documents (and, for scanned pages, images of those pages) together with your questions to AI model providers. Depending on the feature, these include Google (Gemini), Groq and OpenRouter, which passes requests to the provider of the selected model. Providers process this content under their API terms to return a result.

Some processing never leaves our servers: translation, text-to-speech audio and the search index used by chat run on infrastructure we operate.

We do not use your documents or study materials to train AI models of our own.

4. Who We Share Information With

We share information only with services that help us run WellVersed, and only what each needs:

  • AI model providers (Google, Groq, OpenRouter): document content and questions, as described in section 3.
  • Hosting and storage: Hetzner (our servers and database) and Cloudflare (file storage, website hosting and network protection).
  • Google: Google Sign-In if you use it; Google Play for app distribution and payments; Gmail to send our emails; Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications to Android devices.
  • Expo: to deliver push notifications to your device.
  • RevenueCat: to process Google Play purchases. It receives your WellVersed account ID and the details of each purchase.
  • When required by law: if we must respond to a valid legal request, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.

These services may process information in countries other than yours. We choose providers that protect it under their terms.

5. How Long We Keep Information

  • While your account is open, we keep your account, documents, study materials and history so the app works.
  • When you delete your account, it closes straight away. For 30 days you can sign in to restore it. After 30 days, your account, documents, study materials, history and balance records are permanently deleted, including the files in our storage.
  • Error and crash reports are deleted after 30 days (errors) or 90 days (crashes). If you delete your account, any reports still kept are no longer linked to you.
  • Google Play and RevenueCat keep their own records of purchases under their policies.

6. Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and export: download a copy of your data in the app under Settings → Export My Data.
  • Correction: update your name, photo and settings in the app at any time.
  • Deletion: delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete Account, or on our website at wellversedmind.com/delete-account. You can also delete individual books, units and study materials at any time.
  • Notifications: turn push notifications and reminders off in the app or in your device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as objecting to or restricting how we use your information. To use any of these rights, email us at contact.wellversed@gmail.com.

7. Website, Cookies and Local Storage

Our website uses no tracking or advertising cookies and no analytics. It remembers your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage, and loads its fonts from Google Fonts. The app keeps your sign-in session and some study data on your device so it works offline.

8. Security

Information is encrypted in transit with HTTPS/TLS, passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.

9. Children

WellVersed is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
